FAQ'S

Q: What is my recovery period after having my wisdom teeth extracted?

A: You will experience discomfort and swelling for about a week after surgery. May need to schedule time off from work.

 

Q: Why would I still owe money after my surgery visit?

A: Because paperwork done in the office is estimate only, based on the information the insurance company provides us on the day of your appointment.

 

Q: How much will my surgery cost?

A: Depends on insurance company, whether you are staying awake or going to sleep for surgery and how difficult the teeth are to extracted.

Q: How will I be put to sleep?

A: Through IV sedation. We do not use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to put people to sleep. The local anesthesia is used after you are asleep, so you will not wake up in pain.

 

Q: Why do I have to go without eating or drinking 6 hours prior to my surgery appointment?

A: To avoid aspirating vomit into the lungs when you get sick.

 

Q: What can I eat after surgery and how soon?

A: First day will be liquid diet. Second day will be soft diet. Starting third day, you have have anything you want as long as you are up to it. Avoid peanuts, popcorn, chips and other hard foods.
